Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Awayish LLC (operator of ColdOpen) uses cookies and similar technologies when you use our website and application. By continuing to use ColdOpen, you agree to the use of cookies as described below.
Overview
Cookies help us keep you signed in, remember a small number of preferences, and operate the Services. We do not use cookies for advertising, cross-site behavioral tracking, or selling data to anyone.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and (in some cases) collect usage insights. Cookies cannot access personal files or install software on your device.
2. Types of cookies we use
2.1 Essential cookies
These cookies are required for ColdOpen to function properly. They are used for:
- Authentication and maintaining your signed-in session;
- Form submissions and CSRF protection;
- Security and abuse prevention;
- Routing and basic browsing.
Essential cookies cannot be turned off, because ColdOpen will not work without them. You can still block or clear them through your browser, with that consequence.
2.2 Functional cookies
These cookies improve your experience inside the application. They are used for:
- Saving small UI preferences (filters, sort order, expanded sections);
- Storing your sign-in state so you don't have to log in on every visit.
2.3 Measurement that does not use cookies
We measure traffic to our own website on our own servers. That measurement uses no cookies and writes nothing to your device. It records the page requested with query values removed, the referring domain, any campaign tags in the link, approximate country and region, and browser and device type. Repeat visits within a single day are counted using a one-way code derived from your IP address and browser identifier that cannot be turned back into an IP address and that changes every day, so it cannot follow you over time or onto other websites.
We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which runs in your browser. It sets no cookie and writes nothing to your device: visits are identified by a code Vercel derives from the incoming request on its own servers, and that code is discarded after 24 hours. It cannot be used to recognize you on another website.
2.4 Why there is no cookie banner
Consent banners exist to ask permission before a site stores or reads something on your device that it does not strictly need. ColdOpen has nothing in that category: the cookies described above are essential to running the Services, and both forms of measurement are anonymous and cookieless. Asking you to click through a banner that governs nothing would be theater, so we describe what we do here instead.
2.5 What we don't use
ColdOpen does not load third-party advertising trackers, cross-site behavioral analytics, session-replay tools, or marketing cookies. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before the technology loads.
3. Managing cookies
You can control cookie settings at any time by:
- Adjusting your browser settings to block or delete cookies;
- Using private browsing or incognito mode;
- Clearing site data for getcoldopen.com from your browser's settings.
Disabling essential cookies will prevent ColdOpen from working — you will not be able to sign in or save your work.
4. Third-party cookies
A small number of our service providers may set their own cookies or use similar technologies when you use ColdOpen:
- Supabase — authentication session cookies.
- Stripe — payment-processing cookies during checkout. Stripe's cookie practices are described in their own Cookie Policy.
- Vercel — edge-routing and security cookies. Vercel Web Analytics, described in section 2.3, sets no cookies.
These providers have their own cookie policies, which we encourage you to review on their respective websites.
5. Data protection
Any information collected via cookies is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not store personal data via cookies unless you voluntarily provide it (for example, by signing in or filling out a form).
6. Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
